   There I was thinking "Would I want to live in a police state where   
   they'll arrest you just for thinking in the wrong way?"   
      
   And you come up with the highly practical point that it costs a fortune   
   to run a police state. So, full marks for practicality, Norman, but "nul   
   points" for thinking of higher matters!
