   I was watching a political prog the other day and a discussion on this   
   subject came up   
      
   one of the contributors claimed that there was more pollution (of a specific   
   type) from household wood burners than diesel cars   
      
   no-one challenged this but (s)he didn't come up with any proof of the   
   assertion   
      
   seems most unlikely to me give the relative rarity (compared with cars) of   
   wood burners
