   No it isn't.  It is perfectly legal to burn wood in any smoke-free zone   
   provided it is done in a 'DEFRA exempt' or 'smoke exempt' stove as   
   approved by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

   That only really affected private cars.  The major contributors to   
   pollution, however, are the heavy vehicles.
