From: jnstewar@midstatesd.spam.net              I have never entirely understood the antipathy of Communists to religeon,       but I'm starting to see it.              On the one hand, as the chairman of the CPUSA once wrote in an editorial,       the communists' argument is with captialism, not with God.              On the other hand I see large numbers of Americans all but withdrawn from       political debate because they have been sold a bill of goods that there is       some sort of end of the world at hand, a propostion that anyone who has       actually read the Bible will know is nonsense.              I do understand that historically the churches have preached that people       shouldn't ask for more and are taught that the rich are their rightful       masters, which is enough, I suppose, to show the fraud behind much of       religeon, but there is also much that does tend to make people uplifted and       hopeful and better people. I don't know how you seperate the two.              I am not impressed with this silly creationism rubbish. What is at issue is       not who your grandfather was, but what you are now. Did the missing link       have a soul? That was his problem.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
