   My local newspaper had a story on some asphalt plant in East Bay whose   
   smell neighborhood residents were complaining about.  The news article   
   made numerous references to the high market value of the homes, some   
   valued at $9 million.   
      
   The plant is obviously a nuisance and had only been there since 2002   
   and apparently the homes preceded it.  Some irregularities were noted   
   in the approval process, and now the city is offering to pay for its   
   relocation less than a mile away.  It is only because the smelly plant   
   offends rich yuppie scum that it is being relocated, because $9 million   
   is supposed to buy them semi-rural tranquility where they don't have to   
   see, smell, or hear the factory that produces the road asphalt their   
   SUVs tear up.  The article doesn't mention what the factory's new   
   neighbors think about the relocation, but their opinions don't matter   
   because their homes aren't even worth a measly $1 million.
