   The fact is capitalism brought very little improvement to people's lives   
   until laws and reforms were made, or forced upon the capitalists.  Those   
   labor, health and safety, consumer, environmental laws etc. and the   
   implementation of an income tax to re-distribute some of the wealth (not   
   nearly enough IMO) are what lead to the workers to some level of   
   prosperity themselves.
