‘US financial crisis deeper than debt ceiling’

   Thu Oct 3, 2013 10:2AM GMT

   [Excerpts]

Press TV: First of all, tell us what does this government shutdown in essence
   mean?

Roberts: What this shows is that the superpower, the exceptional country, the
indispensable country is not even capable of governing itself and yet it
claims to know what is best for Iran, for Iraq, for Afghanistan, for Somalia,
   for Libya, for Russia,
for China, for the whole world and yet it cannot govern itself.

Press TV: I mean is this how deep is this? And then what about the American
people who are suffering because of this?

Roberts: The main point is that the real crisis is not the fact that the debt
ceiling has been delayed from being raised, it is the fact that there is a
huge imbalance now between the expenditures and revenues.

When you offshore a good segment of your economy, you have really hurt
yourself. You have deprived yourself of revenues in the long run and [then]
when you build in the costs of 12 years of war, you have really hurt the
   expenditure side.

So, the real crisis is that the gap is so wide, there is really nothing they
can do..., they would have to be able to bring the jobs home, they would have
to be able to get rid of these [12 years of war] costs and there are powerful
   vested interests
   defending both things.

So, that is the real crisis, it is not the debt ceiling that is the crisis.

As Obama's Asia 'pivot' falters, China steps into the gap

KUALA LUMPUR | Sun Oct 6, 2013 1:48am EDT Reuters

   [Excerpts]

President Barack Obama's cancellation of a trip this week to four Asian
nations and two regional summits due to the U.S. [World Tyrant] government
shutdown has raised further doubts over a policy aimed at re-invigorating U.S.
   [World Tyrant] military and
economic influence in the fast-growing region, while balancing a rising
   [Capitalist] China.

While U.S. [World Tyrant] and Asian diplomats downplayed the impact of Obama's
no-show, the image of a dysfunctional, distracted Washington [The World
Tyrant] adds to perceptions that [Capitalist] China has in some ways
   outflanked the U.S. [World Tyrant]
   pivot.

As embarrassed U.S. [World Tyrant] officials announced the cancellations last
week, [Capitalist] Chinese President Xi Jinping was in Indonesia announcing a
raft of deals worth about $30 billion and then in Malaysia to announce a
   "comprehensive strategic
partnership", including an upgrade in military ties.

[Capitalist] China...has been the biggest trade partner of the 10-member
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) since 2009, and its direct
investments are surging, bringing with them increased economic and diplomatic
   influence.

[Capialist] Chinese companies invested $4.42 billion in Southeast Asia in
2012, up 52 percent on the previous year, according to [Capitalist] Chinese
state media citing the [Capitalist] China-ASEAN Business Council. Investments
   into neighboring Vietnam
   rocketed 147 percent.

Double martyrdom attacks hit foreign troops in Zhiri, 30 kiled and wounded

   Sunday, 06 October 2013 14:38

KANDAHAR: Officials reporting from Zhiri district say that foreign troops have
suffered heavy losses in multiple IED attacks and 2 martyrdom strikes.

According to information, foreign troops were airdropped by helicopters at
02:00 am local time today in Sanzari region’s Anarak Dara area prompting
Mujahideen to immediately target them with IEDs.

2 other martyrdom seekers (Sanaullah and Fareed Ahmad, both from Kandahar
province) armed with explosives vests that were housed in an empty compound by
Mujahideen later struck the invaders one after the other as the enemy was busy
   treating their
   casualties from the blasts.

The twin martyrdom attacks and 10 IED blasts killed and wounded a total of 30
invaders that were later evacuated off site by medical helicopters, according
to witnesses who add that the body parts of the invaders are still scattered
   around the area.

Mujahideen later recovered 2 enemy assault rifles, a rocket launcher, 3 night
   vision goggles and other equipment.
