   No one said it did. They merely note that polygamy shows that marriage   
   is not traditionally 'one man and one woman'.   
      
   The objections of bigots are not material to the question at hand.   
      
   1. Marriage is _not_ a religious institution.   
   2. God did not invent it.   
   3. In many societies men have legally married more than one woman at the   
   same time.   
   4. In many societies women have legally married more than one man at the   
   same time.   
   5. In many societies same sex marriages have been tolerated.   
      
   Bigots hide behind their religion to make excuses for their personal   
   intolerance and try to blame some god for their personal bigotry.
