If you set up a survival wind/solar power system for "emergencies or
SHTF" it made sense to me that you could use that energy to mine
BitCoins or other digital coins while you wait for that emergency when
you need that solar/wind power. Meanwhile you gain experience in solar
practicality. Like an insurance policy that's paying dividends.

Then use the BitCoin to maintain and buy more solar/wind and other
   survival supplies.

Then when the SHTF the BitCoin may be as worthless as the internet but
if you didn't try saving it then who cares. And you end up with all the
other stuff you already bought. And if there are only hard times the Bit
Coin and the internet could be a source of alternative supplies to help
get by on the lean months.
