   Close friends of ours were devasted to hear that their teenage grandson   
   had decided to transition and that he was taking hormone drugs for this   
   purpose.  Fortunately he didn't go so far as to have surgery.   
      
   After a very difficult trans experience (he discovered that he didn't   
   much like "womanhood") he de-transitioned five years later.   
      
   Thankfully, he was lucky enough not to suffer any permanent damage from   
   taking gender-bending drugs.  He is now well on the way to regaining   
   full health, both physical and mental.  With luck, he should still be   
   able to father a family, as he hopes.
