|    Can't access port 6666 through VPN    |

From: j@j.j              I have a VPN setup on my Windows Server 2000 machine. The only port open is       1723 from which I access with the VPN and then I can initiate Terminal       Services without having to forward any other ports... pretty standard.              Here's the twist:       I'm trying to access a program on the server from home via the VPN that is       setup to run on port 6666. Everything works great on the LAN at work, but       my home PC cannot seem to access port 6666 through the VPN. The only way I       was able to get it to work was to directly forward port 6666 on my linksys       router to the server's IP. However, I don't want to have to open a 2nd port       to the outside. Why can't I access this port via the VPN through 1723? It       seems like it should work just like Terminal Services.                     Jordan              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
