|    pcanywhere over cipe??    |
|    03 Jul 04 12:32:09    |
From: tom@staff.showmeisp.net              I've got a pretty simple setup via cipe, looks like this:              (10.10.1.x/24)---(cipe box)---(Internet)---(cipe box)---(10.10.2.x/24)              Cipe boxes are stripped down RH9 boxes.              Everything works fine (smb (drive mounts), ssh, http, mapi (exchange) etc)       to hosts between the sites, and except for speed, there is no indication       that its even a remote network.              The one thing that seems flaky though is pc-anywhere.              PCAny's brows function (ie putting 10.10.2.255) should be able to find all       the pcanywhere hosts on that subnet, but the list always comes up blank from       across the cipe tunnel (this happens from either side). The other big thing       that happens is if you try to connect to a host that is busy, instead of       getting a busy message, I just get a black blank screen. This happens       regardless of the encryption settings within pc-any (I currently have them       turned off for performance). This happens with all pcany ver 10.5, all       pcany ver 11, and mixing between.              If I convert the cipe tunnel to a GRE tunnel (unencrypted) then all works       fine.              Any ideas? Has anyone else seen this problem?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
