|    SSH Sentinel 1.3 / DNS    |

From: R.Fuchs@Schulze-Rank.de              Hello!              I'm using SSH Sentinel 1.3 to connect to my Netgear FVS318. The SSH runs       on a laptop under Windows XP SP1 with configured DNS (via DHCP). The VPN       works fine.              Now I detected that the laptop about every minute tries to make a DNS       request to get the IP of the target VPN gateway (a dyndns.org hostname)       although no VPN connection is initialized or requested. Only the SSH       service and the SSH monitor service are running in the background (this       is standard after installation).              This issue is not serious if the laptop is directly connected to the       LAN, but when "on the road" this results in a dialin connection if the       modem / ISDN is connected.              What can I do to suppress these DNS requests?              Rolf       --       Rolf Fuchs       Ingenieurbuero Schulze und Rank       D-09112 Chemnitz, Kassbergstrasse 41       Tel.: +49 (0) 371 / 3519-147, Fax: ...-111              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
