|    Problem with mapping network shares on a    |

From: info@bagiradesign.de              Hello,              we've got a company network with several win2000 and winNT servers and a       Debian/FreeSWan/DSL-Gateway-PC. I've further a laptop which i use in the       company and at home. this laptop is not member of the windows-domain, it is       member of a 'workgroup'.       When i plug in my laptop at the office, i can use "net use p:       \\ip.xxx.xxx.xxx\share" to       map my network shares. depending on access rights, i'm asked for       user-information or not.       when i now take this laptop home and establish an vpn connection to the       office,       i can only map shares on win2000 or winXP systems. Mapping shares on the       winnt or       samba servers is't possible.       (Further info: these servers run http servers, so when i try to connect via       browser, i get       correct page result. this means to me that tcp/ip connection is possible).       Does this       have something todo with NetBios or so?                     Thanks in advance,        Marcel              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
