   Hi,   
   IPsec connections time out, and it can take traffic from the remote site   
   to the central to bring the tunnel back up. Is it any traffic from there   
   or only pings that start the tunnel again ?   
   If the router there has an option for syslog to another server then an   
   easy fix would be to tell it to report to a server at the central site   
   (doesn't need to be a server on the address you specify though) this   
   traffic will keep the link from the remote site alive.   
   There's probably a better solution though :)
