   Thanks Wolfgang, i needed that info :). the workgroup is differnet but i was   
   able to do a search for the computer and i found it and its shares. I turned   
   on internet sharing but it still wont work. if i log into it from home or   
   work it wont let me ping or anything. it does have an ip address though. i   
   must have some settings wrong.
