|    Standalone VPN client to share?    |

From: NOosbjmgSPAM@hotmail.com              Hello,        I am interested in making a vpn client machine act as a gateway for       users at home. My idea is to have a second connection to the internet (from       a cable provider) besides our router. Right now our router does not look at       IKE and therefore only one of us can VPN at any given time to our remote       network. Using a machine as a vpn gateway I would like all traffic to the       vpn network to go through this box. I am not sure if it would be only for       that or if I want it to be able to get to the internet at the same time or       not yet.              Basically my question is: can packets from inside a lan be routed by a       machine that is on the lan and transmit the packets over the vpn as it's own       packets? OR are there issues with authentication and the origin of the       packets? I am thinking of using debian with ipchains.              any advice would be awesome!              -John Gill              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
