      From: philryan@ryden.com.au              Sandy              This problem sounds exactly like mine, just different hardware.              Seems to me that there is an essential difference between a dialup       connection and a broadband one: with broadband, you always have to go       through some sort of "router": the cable or dsl modem has two IP addresses -       at least - one of them is the WAN connection to the ISP, the other is the       connection to your computer (or your cable/dsl router) or whatever.              With dialup, your modem only has one IP address: the one that is assigned to       it by the ISP when the dialup connection is successful. In other words -       there is no routing taking place, the conventional modem is just sending all       traffic through.              Just 2c              -- Phil              "Sandy Culver" |
