   You are confusing port numbers (the ID of a UDP or TCP channel) and IP   
   protocol IDs (i.e. 6=TCP,  17=UDP, 47=GRE, 50=IPSec).   
   TCP port 1723 (Microsoft PPTP) and IP-protocol 47 (GRE)
