From: a$-b$1@ms3.org.uk              This question is probably general, but the particular case I am working       on uses Draytek Vigor ADSL routers (with built-in VPN support) and       networks using machines running various versions of Microsoft Windows.       Each network has a single external IP address and uses NAT.              The requirement is to VPN a workstation, which is connected to its own       local network, to a remote network. However, both the local network and       the remote network use the same address range (192.168.0.x actually),       and specific addresses are duplicated; in particular, 192.168.0.1 is the       main file server on each of the networks. There is no difficulty if the       local network uses a different address range.              Once the VPN is established, address 192.168.0.1, for example, becomes       duplicated and ambiguous: is it the local file server or the remote one?              Is there any way to get round this problem without having to reconfigure       either network?              Best wishes,       --       Michael Salem              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
