   Absolutely correct. And the reverse is equally true: just because a router   
   is not "pingable" doesn't mean it can't be hacked. The whole point is that   
   no router/firewall can *stop* incoming ICMP-echo packets, it will have to   
   swallow all of them, no matter how big or malformed they are.
