|    Nokia VPN-1 330 Hard Disk Failure    |
|    19 Nov 03 04:31:01    |
From: mikedgibson@NOSPAMrogers.com              I have a Nokia 330 that the hard drive recently failed on. Unfortunately I       do not have a support agreement with Nokia anymore so I am left to try to       repair it myself. After reading the list I gathered that I should be able to       use a new disk and perform a command like 'dd if=nkipflash.bin of=/dev/XXX'       in FreeBSD to fix this disk. Basically my questions at this point are how       should I configure my partition information on the disk (I put in a 20 Gig       disk) and when I am executing the dd command I assume I would use a device       something like /dev/ad1 if it was my second disk?? Also will I be able to       use the boot loader after this to reload IPSO from ipso.tgz??              If I am on the wrong track I would appreciate any input as to how to get the       boot loader and OS back onto a new disk.              Thanks!              Mike Gibson              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
