Are you using a dynamic or a static IP address? if they are both dynamic
IP addresses you will have problems. Dynamic Domain Name Services does
not always work. It is not always reliable when IP addresses changes you
will briefly loose VPN networking maybe for as long as one hour. Make
sure both have static IP addresses. Try using cable modem services it
works just as well as DSL static IP address.
