|    Netgear VPN and browsing Network Neighbo    |
|    19 Dec 03 00:10:02    |
From: webster@speakeasy.org              I finally am able to make a VPN connection using SoftNet client software       and connect to my Netgear FVM318 via a secure VPN tunnel.              Now I have another problem. I can't browse the network neighborhood       behind the FVM318 VPN Router. I've got Netbios enabled on the VPN       setting on the router side and Netbios over TCP/IP on the client side.       I can also ping the workstations by ip address.              Does anyone have any idea on how I can accomplish the browsing without       WINS or LMHOSTS file? I specificly purchased the FVM318 because I was       told that with the Netbios Enabled on the VPN router, I would be able to       browse the Network Neighborhood.              Not sure knowing my setup will help but here it is. The client I'm       using for the VPN is running Windows 2000 Professional. The site is       setup like this. It's the Netgeat FVM310 handling the VPN endpoint.       This router also handles NAT for 2 workstations behide it running       Windows 2000 Pro and XP Home. No Domain, so it's a peer to peer       connection foe everything behind the FVM318.              Someone with some knowledge with thing, please help.              THANKS!!!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
