|    Personal Firewall Blocking VPN access    |
|    07 Feb 04 19:47:57    |
From: intothebin@hotmail.com              I want to install a Personal firewall on WinXP laptop and have tried       Kerio & Outpost but can't work out the correct configuration so I get       absolutely nowhere.              The VPN is Netscreen and I am running the Netscreen basic (not secure)       client. The VPN is setup for ISPSEC and the Netscreen site tells me       that:              IKE1 authentication requires UDP on Port 500       and IPSEC requires ESP on IP Protocol 50 but putting these values in       doesn't work.              Any clues as to how to setup or see what protocols/ports are being       called up?              Both firewalls normally shoot up a rule, for instance the first time       accessing a POP3 server - but no such help comes up when trying to       ping the remote server              many thanks                     --       TonyL              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
