|    vpn and norton personal firewall    |

From: longmedo@hotmail.com              Hi,              I am using the win xp server on my work network via a speedtouch530 dsl       modem/router and winxp client at home (dialup). I can connect using the xp       vpn and setting the NAT configuration to point at my work PC as the server       on the router. It works fine, as long as Norton personal firewall is       diabled. When enabled, I just get an error when logging on. I have set a       rule in the firewall configuration to allow computers to connect through       port 1723, but it still refuses access.              Although the router claims it's a firewall, when I run a security check via       the symantec website, I get warnings regarding open ports. If I remove the       pointer making my work computer a server, the security check is clear, but       the VPN no longer works.              Any ideas on how to configure the hardware so that I have a working vpn and       a protected computer/network.              Cheers in advance              AB              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
