    Well, two instances is unfortunate, certainly, but what's the   
   overall pattern? The Conquerer has its infamous reputation not just   
   because of John Wayne, but because of the apparently [1] greater than   
   expected number of cancer cases from it.   
      
      
    [1] One of those ``history tested out by elaborate computer   
   simulation'' shows studied soil samples from the filming locations and   
   found that fallout levels were not so high as would be expected for the   
   movie shooting to be a common cancer link. I don't know if that result   
   has held up, but it's an interesting data point.
