Both do, really, feel like fair concerns. If you've been getting
into the show from the finely-tuned, high-paced, pitch-perfect shows like
that giddy high patch around The Magic Voyage of Sinbad, going to season
one where it feels much more strongly like they're improvising and working
out just how the show ought to work is disconcerting. It's kind of like
how the DVDs for the 90-minute SCTVs were released ahead of any half-hour
shows; not that there's anything wrong with the half-hour SCTV shows, but
they were doing a whole lot better before too long.

Still, I'm glad to get much better looks at the young J Elvis
Weinstein, who was, well, working at the level MST3K would reach when
it was still getting up to speed.
