I do quite like the text MiSTing as a form, even though a couple
friends of mine have even done those iRiffs tracks for RiffTrax and I've
got to speak vaguely enough around them to give the impression that I've
downloaded them when they do wonder how they did. This is quite unfair
of me since I've often used them as beta-testers for my MiSTings and at
least one of them has always given useful feedback, by which I mean
copying the bits he liked best.

Actually *doing* a text MiSTing has its challenges, not least, in
this case, I'd think getting a copy of the source matter in an electronic
file; although perhaps the books are in .binary circulation by now ... I
   haven't been tempted to look.

If I might offer unsolicited advice: part of the puzzle in writing
a MiSTing is that the people who read it are, almost without exception,
big MST3K fans. So having too many riffs that are themselves callbacks to
the show makes --- to my tastes --- a less satisfying result. The more
jokes the reader wasn't about to make, usually, the better. (And since
all advice has counter-advice of an equal yet opposite course of action,
yeah, sometimes you have to give the fans what they're asking for. Just
   not all the time.)
