   Ah, that must be from the rain off the MOUNTAINS OF ILLINOIS!  (what

   Um, so now we have a large angry BLACK HOLE...  Problem solved, I   
   guess?   
      
   That movie was: The Beginning of the End (with Peter Graves).  As I recall,   
   one of their comments was "this is sooo NOT Illinois".  I'm guessing the   
   actual filming was done somewhere in the San Fernando Valley, Ojai, or   
   Thousand Oaks, CA.  The terrain certainly looks familiar.
