From: dre1@cornell.edu               If you're looking for a disaster film that shows what human ingenuity and       determination can accomplish against implacable Nature, don't look to       SHARKNADO.       This film makes films like "City Limits" look *good*. After seeing this film,       you'll suddenly find *nuance* in "Invasion of the Neptune Men"....              Given that, I think that Mike, Kevin, and Bill got about as much out of it as       humanly possible. I laughed several times, which is saying something for a       film as soul-deadening as this one. They showed their new riffing of "A Case       of Spring Fever" (       featuring Coily!) before this, and it was quite good, but it's hard to compete       against the *extraordinary* MST3K original: "Guns, huh?" "Lots of loose soil       to bury someone out here" :-)              Given that I'm a relatively "tough case", I think this was well worth the       money. If you missed it, they're reshowing it (direct broadcast to theaters       through fathomevents.com) on July 15, 2014.              -Doug Elrod (dre1@cornell.edu)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
