   Yes, I'd think it was Tales of the Unexpected, too. The man was Roald Dahl,   
   author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Big Friendly Giant etc. I   
   think he was usually sitting in a chair beside a fireplace in his living   
   room. I don't remember the carousel horses - unless they changed the titles   
   for the American audience - over here in the UK there was a silhouette of a   
   naked woman dancing: black figure against a background of flames, I think.
