BBC TV Show Renewed for Season 7 After 5 Years
       ----------------------------------------------
The BBC has officially announced the renewal of its hit police
procedural drama Line of Duty, which will be returning for its
seventh season. The show went on a nearly five-year-long hiatus
after the sixth season concluded its seven-episode run in May
2021, where its finale garnered the attention of 17 million
       viewers.

What do we know about BBC's Line of Duty Season 7?
"Line of Duty Season 7 starts with the iconic AC-12 division
being disbanded and rebranded the Inspectorate of Police
Standards. Anticorruption work has never been more difficult.
In the challenging climate, Steve Arnott, Kate Fleming, and Ted
Hastings are assigned their most sensitive case so far," reads
the synopsis. "Detective Inspector Dominic Gough, a charismatic
officer winning plaudits for a string of takedowns of organized
crime, is accused of abusing his position of trust to act as a
sexual predator. But is Gough's case a deliberate distraction
from a bigger threat still operating in the shadows?"

It has also been confirmed that Martin Compston, Vicky McClure,
and Adrian Dunbar will be reprising their respective roles as
Steve Arnott, Kate Fleming, and Ted Hastings. At the moment, the
BBC hasn't revealed the new cast members who will be joining the
leading trio. Production is expected to begin next Spring in
       Belfast.

"As we count down the AC-12 days of Christmas, what a joy it is
to know that the Three Amigos will be back filming together next
year," Dunbar said in a statement. "Delighted with the news and
looking forward to those mercurial twists and turns."

Line of Duty is written and created by Jed Mercurio, who is also
executive producing alongside Simon Heath for World Productions
and BBC's Nick Lambon. Season 7 will be directed by Jennie
Darnell, with Ken Horn serving as a producer.

Mercurio added, "Everyone involved in Line of Duty feels enormous
gratitude to the show's fans. We're privileged to have had so
many of you follow the ups and downs of AC-12 over six previous
seasons, and we couldn't be more delighted to be returning for a
seventh. Corruption in this country is supposed to have come to
an end while Line of Duty was off air, so I've been forced to use
       my imagination."
