   Yes, but overall the entire thing is a really big lot faster.  The ratio seems   
   rather irrelevent when we realize that the average disk drive today is 60   
   times faster than the ones we had under DOS.

   Exactly... 3 of 10 times the data requested is not already in the cache and   
   has to be grabbed from disk anyway. Most cache software has lousy hit/miss   
   ratios, typically 1 in 5 or less.
