   Ownership does not imply the right to re-distribute.  To sell even a patched   
   copy without permission could land one in a ton of legal trouble.   
      
   That said... there would be nothing preventing the OP from selling a bit of   
   software to insert the patch or a set of instructions on how to patch the RTL.   
   (In fact I'll be putting a couple of pages on my website about this very thing
