   sigh. The problem I have with pchars is, a component for Delphi I had to   
   use always uses that damn type as return value. But that compoinent is   
   for serial communications, so #0 could possibly occur.   
      
   => not much thought on the side of the components authors or better not   
   much effort to hide that pchar usage of the Windows API...   
   Annoying for me as I had to convert this first to be useable for me...
