   That it would be a good idea to describe your system better, in case you   
   are the discoverer of a new fault.   
      
   There's no product MSDOS 7.01, of course - try booting your system from   
   a true DOS floppy to see whether the hardware is innocent, which seems   
   likely - so you've probably got some nasty system software there -   
   you're probably fenestrated.   
      
   Since it's not in the newsgroup FAQ, which I trust you have read, it's   
   not a well-known problem.
