   What you need to understand is that each language has its own way of   
   doing things.  You seem to expect there to be a one-to-one   
   correspondence between statements in C and in Pascal.  It isn't that   
   way.  Someone made a good analogy with natural languages.  For   
   instance, to translate from German to English, you can't make a good   
   translation simply by substituting the corresponding words.  You have   
   to take into take into account syntax, gamers, etc.  You need to   
   understand both languages, and you probably need to understand the   
   target language at least as well as you understand the source   
   language.
