   Only a few here are likely to be fluent in the dirty parts of your   
   language; and only a few even know what it is.  Just be thankful that   
   you are not (AFAIK) a Russian astrophysicist.

   It's quite clear to me what that will do in my Win98 system; tests for   
   systems other than that (& DOS 6.20, DOS 3.3) can only be done by   
   others.  It will be an option in the full program.   
      
   ISTM that what you say implies that in WinME a traditional DOS 32-byte   
   entry may contain a mixed-case 8.3 name.  If that applies to floppies   
   written to by WinME, I'd expect problems in reading them on a classical   
   system.
