   Since this deviates more, there are more possible answers:   
      
   1) Delphi is more that just the language. It is a RAD.   
   2) C++ and Delphi differ significantly (object by ref vs static e.g. templates)   
   3) In the case of C++ a language backwards compatible with C was needed due   
   	to large code bases. In Delphi's case, similar, but than with TP.
