I came across a description of a project to convert a lot of Fortran code
to Pascal. The basic idea they came up with is to use a pattern matching/
translation language, like Perl or similar, to do 90% of the convertion,
then use manual editting to finish it up. The idea is that instead of
writing an entire programming language parser, you just match common patterns
   and convert.
