   I just hoped someone would have found a trick to change the build-in tiling to   
   horizontally. From the responses it seems such a trick does not exist.   
      
   So thanks for the answers to all of you.   
      
   I probably will have a look at the mentioned programs for comparing source   
   files. However I'am afraid I will not want to give up all the tools/functions   
   that are readily available from the IDE by stepping into another tool :-((
