   Hi,   
      
   you are likely to get a fine column layout even on proportional font,   
   when you combine padding by spaces [SP] up to the column width   
   with a single tab character [TAB] delimiting the columns.   
   [CR][LF] is the line break.   
   Here is an example:   
      
   Column[SP]1[SP][SP][TAB]Column[SP]2[TAB][CR][LF]   
   Item[SP]1[SP][SP][SP][SP][TAB]$2.50[SP][SP][SP][CR][LF]   
   Next[SP]Item[SP][TAB]$200.99[SP][CR][LF]
