   Hello,   
      
   use DOS for DOS programs and Windows for Windows programs...   
   So TP 6 will work under XP, but graphics programming won't do too much   
   good (often hindered by the graphics drivers of windows).   
      
   => use FreePascal Win32 Compiler or Delphi for Windows or use DOS as OS.   
   Other combinations will get you in trouble sooner or later.   
      
   For overlays (without EMS/XMS in the first place but extensible to that   
   later)   
   look up these topics in the help:   
   - unit   
   - overlay   
   - initovr   
   and place a {$F+,O+} as first line of every unit you want to be put into   
   the overlay.
