   That's 'untenable', to start with.   
      
   The benefit in owning a license to a software product is not in   
   receiving support and upgrades. My boss sells maintenance packages   
   to people for exactly that. He sells them licenses to _use_ it in   
   the first place.   
      
   Borland developed Turbo Pascal in the past and legally, it owes us   
   nothing for having done so.
