   This has been done many times already, and about 15-20 years ago.

   If you must do it yourself, be sure to write an interrupt service routine.   
   Don't waste your time on DOS and BIOS calls.   
      
   It is sad that the best commercial solutions (from Blaise and TurboPower)   
   are not available anymore. Sourceforge only has the Delphi/Builder version   
   of TurboPower's Apro. Turbopower itself bought the Blaise stuff, and buried   
   it, and now it has disappeared with the company.
