   Back in the MS Dos days there was an agreement between manufacturers of   
   graphic cards that all should comply to the VGA 640x480x16 standard. In   
   windows this is still what your computer falls back to if for some   
   reason the graphic driver fails to load. (save mode)   
      
   In this case the screen does not comply to this standard.
