|    Delphi 10 application silent crash - wha    |

From: mhs@iqx.co.uk              Hi,              A small number of our users are having a persistent problem with our Delphi       10 (BDS 2006) application       randomly exiting with no message of any kind, and nothing in the Windows       event log.              I have temporarily reverted them to the old Delphi 6 version and the problem       goes away.              The crash seems random (from different parts of the program) and we haven't       been able to find       any pattern (several months of trying).              The Delphi version is 10.0.2166.28377 Update 1. It is a database application       using Sybase SQL Anywhere via       ODBC and BDE. We have tried different versions of Sybase on different       servers etc.              The great majority of our users never encounter this, so we are inclined to       suspect something on the specific users'       machines/networks but nothing we have changed makes any difference       (antivirus software etc).              I am at a loss to know how to debug this. Any suggestions at all would be       most welcome.              Michael Scott              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
