   Nothing... what you describe is a pretty standard setup. USB ethernet   
   dongles are generally trouble-free. I use them to create a simple and   
   controlled environment for firmware development.   
      
   Crossover cables are history. Nearly all modern ethernet devices support   
   auto-crossover.   
      
   10 Mbit won't cause any trouble either...
