   I was confronted with "Channel Check" when trying to repair my MIAMI based   
   Ultimedia Video Adapter.   
   CHCK# was active on very basic disturbance of important MCA control lines,   
   like when I had a dead 74xx logic chip in the CMD# line.   
   The Adaptec chip may be different, but I don't think this is the right bit to   
   look at.
